The question we hear most often from students new to Provio is simple: what's the verification process actually like? Is it a test? An interview? A form?
It's really none of those. Verification on Provio is a guided demonstration — 40 minutes of showing what you actually do in your chosen domains. Here's how it works.
Step 1: Create Your Profile (5 minutes)
Register at provio.in and fill in your basic profile. This includes your education, areas of interest, and the tools and languages you want to be evaluated in. Be candid here — the system will test you on exactly what you list. Claiming Kubernetes expertise because you once read a blog post will score low in that category, and drag your Profile Score down.
Hint
Name three to four areas you're genuinely strong in — not ten you've only skimmed. In Provio's scoring model, depth beats breadth every time.
Step 2: Domain Assessment (15–20 minutes)
In the domain assessment, candidates take AI-proctored tests that evaluate domain-related knowledge.
The test is typically a mix of multiple-choice questions on core concepts, and practical, scenario-based problems that simulate real-world tasks.
These aren't just about picking the right answer — they're designed to assess your reasoning, how you handle ambiguity, and your problem-solving approach. The AI evaluates your overall response, including the quality of your method.
The goal isn't to make the test unnecessarily hard. It's to make it realistic and relevant. Candidates with real-world experience tend to feel right at home — the test mirrors the kind of work they already do.
Step 3: Project Verification (10 minutes)
Link your GitHub or submit project links for the AI to analyse. Provio looks at commit history, code quality signals, documentation habits, and project complexity — not just the README.
Team projects are fine. Just be ready to explain what you specifically contributed, because the follow-up questions will ask exactly that.
Your Profile Score
At the end of verification, your Profile Score — a composite out of 100 — is generated and published to your Provio profile within minutes. For recruiters, this score becomes your new resume.
You can retake a single domain test with a 30-day cooldown. And the score keeps updating as you add new verified projects over time. It isn't a fixed snapshot. It's a living picture of your ability.
What Happens After Verification?
Verified candidates are surfaced to company dashboards. You don't apply — you get discovered. On Provio, companies filter by Profile Score, domain, location, and availability. When your profile matches, they reach out directly. No more ATS rejection emails.
Verified candidates on Provio are five times more likely to land an interview than unverified applicants sending cold resumes. An honest 40-minute evaluation generates months of visibility.
